EPGR’s Daniel Gutenplan shares his legal expertise and opinion on NBC’s new documentary ”A Marriage on Trial: Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, and Truth in the Age of Social Media.”

Lawyers from a diversity of backgrounds have come together to sit down and discuss the most recent public defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. In this documentary from NBC, our very own Daniel Gutenplan joined the group of legal experts to break down the key events that led team Depp to win. Gutenplan explains that to win the public’s opinion and belief, Johnny Depp “did his best to explain his personality and to try to get sympathy from the jury and from the public at large.” Gutenplan also explains how team Depp was able to win because the jury had lost trust in Amber Heard’s testimony. The cause of this was the revelation that TMZ was most likely tipped off by Heard, which resulted in the photo submissions of her injuries being ignored by the jury.
