One of the most popular video games of all time, Fortnite, has been hit with a class-action lawsuit. The complainant claims that the creators designed the game with the intention to create a dependency on playing the game, while also failing to warn users of the risks of addiction. This specific lawsuit was filed in Canada and will pave the way for new lawsuits in America regarding video games ethics. EPGR’S very own, David Glass joined the conversation, sharing he believes that that in order to win a case like this, the ones who filed the lawsuit would have to convince the court not to go with DSM-5 but instead with World Health Organization standards for what constitutes a mental disorder.
